INSITE - PRODUCT FEATURES

Insite's simple User-Interface utilizes a dedicated LCD screen and comfortable keypad, to provide quick user Set-up of a uniquely powerful and versatile wireless monitoring system.

The following summarizes some of the many monitoring and tracking features built into Insite.

Monitoring and tracking device with GPS
Insite remote monitoring base unit
  • Advanced GSM quad band cellular phone capability that works on worldwide GSM bands (850 MHz, 1900MHz, 900 MHz, 1800 MHz.)
  • Fully programmable 92 number phone book with additional 8 call programmable escalations.
  • This allows you to program up to four phone numbers for each device function. These four numbers can be sent messages whenever a switch comes ON and a different four numbers whenever that same switch goes OFF. You can then program Insite to wait a set period before calling the next of up to eight additional escalation numbers.
  • All messages sent for device alarms are pre-set as generic factory default messages but can be simply overwritten with user-entered messages that are more contextual with events being monitored.
  • The Insite wireless base unit has a built-in temperature sensor with user-set upper and lower limit settings. These can be set to report high, low and in-band temperature conditions. Use this to monitor your holiday home in the snow country or warehouse HVAC system remotely. The Insite i2 also stores the maximum and minimum recorded temperature over a recording period that you can set.
  • The Insite base unit also has built-in under-volt detection. This can let you know if power goes out in your home, office, factory or yacht. It will also notify you when power is restored.
  • Insite provides eight switch contact inputs that alarm on any change in switch state.
Any device that has a contact output or a suitable signal voltage, can be connected to these inputs and used to send a text message warning on contact closure, contact opening, or both. Four separate cell phones can be dialed for each contact opening event and a different four for each contact closure event. Remote monitoring senting unitsThat means if there is say a low Fuel-oil tank level alarm from your unattended home, a message can be sent to the fuel oil delivery service, another to you, a third to your neighbor and a forth to your email as a record. When the Oil company is refilling the oil tank, Insite can send the refilling message just to you.
The switches can be selectively armed and disarmed remotely from any wireless cell phone.
  • All eight switches can be connected by hard wire or wirelessly using Insite's built-in 433Mhz Wireless Personal Area Network (WiPAN). WiPAN senders can be used to provide a short-hop connection with any nearby switch contact, without running wires. A Temperature monitoring WiPAN sensor allows a probe to sense temperature and provide user-settable alarm set-points. All WiPAN sensors also provide link supervision with LOW BATTERY VOLTAGE and SENSOR ON-LINE/OFF-LINE warning messages, sent to your cell phone.
  • Two Telemetry INPUT Channels are provided. These allow you to connect Insite to a signal voltage, such as a battery or transducer output. When polled from a remote phone, Insite will return the numerical reading taken of the voltage or transducer output in a contextual text string or email. User calibration is provided at set-up and the units of measure can be assigned by the user. Insite then interpolates the measured input and converts it into any number range and units, as preset by the user at set-up.
For example, a fluid level can be sensed and the value of that level in say gallons, can be returned as an email or to the nominated cell phone as an SMS text message. The telemetry message could look something like:
"Heating Oil Tank level = 250 Gallons"
  • All commands sent from remote phones are automatically checked against an access list of phone numbers for each device, so only a qualified phone will be given access to Insite.Insite remote temperature sending unit
  • Insite i2 can deliver timed reports automatically or when polled, giving status of all switches, telemetry values, output states and GPS position reports.
  • Insite's i2 programmable global alert and monitoring system allows embedded commands to be received within SMS message strings. These commands can poll for telemetry, operate external switches and functions as well as perform programmed WAITs between commands. For example, a switch can be monitored that upon activation, sends a message, triggers a series of timed telemetry reports, operates some other external functions, sends a GPS position report and sends a STATUS report on all switch states and functions. One device can tell you when something happens, as well as automatically initiate functions as a result. All these features are remotely accessible from any registered cell phone, or another InSite device.
  • Insite i2 has the ability to perform Peer to Peer (P2P and M2M) functions over six channels in both directions. Two or more wireless units can communicate with each other without any human or cell phone intervention. A switch activation at one Insite can be used to activate other functions remotely at other Insites, provided a small network delay can be tolerated. These can be used to control devices such as lights, pumps, motors and equipment remotely. All control messages received by Insite are selectively confirmed after execution.
  • Insite i2 is InsiteFleet ready, which enables fleet operators to track and monitor up to 1,000 Insite devices from a PC screen. Only an Air-Card is required and no internet or hardwire connection is necessary, unless tracking with Google Map is required. Google Mapping allows each asset to be tracked and displayed on street or satellite maps. ( See below.)i2Dockshot..JPG
  • An optional embedded GPS receiver can be remotely activated to send Insite"s current latitude, longitude, speed, course and altitude, to a registered remote cell phone. All polling and responses can be done with SMS text messages. GPS fix information is Google Earth ready format.
  • Insite utilizes an external Puck antenna which allows positioning in optimum signal location. Position accuracy is better than 9 feet outdoors.
  • ENTRY-DOOR delay with keypad PASSWORD that disarms the alarm function can be selected. This allows you to use, say a Passive Infra Red (PIR) motion detector or magnetic door switch (wired or WiPAN), to secure your entry door. When you enter by this door, or through this PIR zone, Insite gives you time to correctly enter a secret password on the Insite Keypad, thereby disarming the alarm.
  • Insite also provides overall remote system control to a password-secured 'Administrator' function.
  • The LCD screen provides numerous status screens for easy troubleshooting and system setup.
  • Internal Lithium Ion standby Battery supply ( lasts up to 4 days, depending on location and activity).
  • Standard built-in or external cellular antenna provision.Insitedockinterior.JPG
  • The Insite case is built 'splash-proof' with waterproof gaskets, rubber covers and o-rings. A dust cover is provided for the keyboard.
  • An optional docking station enables Insite to be quickly plugged into any installation. The docks can be used to house customized user application interfaces, such as a marine monitoring system, a standby power generator monitoring system or a data center monitoring system.
  • For installations having electrically "noisy" conditions like a factory floor or where larger distances need to be covered by the Wireless PAN, like a dock yard, the Insite Dock modules can be provided with built-in Zigbee - MESH Network systems. The Zigbee WPAN protocol offers higher noise immunity with multi-path data-packet switching for the Insite wireless sensor traffic. The alternative is hard-wired cabling.
  • Insite... All that is required is a valid GSM SIMCARD' on any modern GSM network. No expensive monitoring contracts are needed. You do your own monitoring.
  • Dimensions: 120mm x 72mm x 32mm.

Applications involving fleets of Insites monitoring multiple assets over a wide geographical area, can benefit from an innovative asset tracking and management system InsiteFleet.

InsiteFleet This system is designed to run on any PC under WINDOWS. It allows a fleet manager to use a PC and a simple AIRCARD, to monitor up to 1,000 Insites.

InsiteFleet displays every switch state, output state, latitude, longitude, speed, course, temperatures, voltages, telemetry readings and output controls for each Insite asset.

Because it does not need an Internet connection it is totally portable. If an internet connection is available, multiple clients ( PC's) can all display the same data as well as plot and track each asset on Google map in real time.

If the assets are stationery, the Google mapping support is extremely useful for indexing from the map to the screen data line. It is also very useful when tracking and directing vehicles to each asset location, during storm or crisis management.

When Internet is not available or needed, the screen becomes a full screen spread sheet, as shown in the lower portion of the following screen shot.
